Good to see the Real Ale Tw*ts back in VIZ. A marvellous episode.

Is it only me or does the leading protagonist remind you of our branch's esteemed chairman?

The WELLINGTON ( formely the CASK AND CUTLER ) SHEFFIELD has three framed real ale twat strips framed on a wall enroute to the loo,and all these strips have a common theme ,an excursion around herefordshire hostelries.Believe me Bromyard will never have a beer and cider festival.

I'm sorely tempted to get a t-shirt with "Tastebuds to the Fore Fellow Casketeers!" on it.

Oh they're marvellous aren't they? Beer from the wood. Tug tug tug! Brilliant. Glad not everyone's thrown away their back copies and it's good we can laugh at ourselves (not that, er, I'm a carbon copy of the RATs).

Show me a prototype of the T-shirt and I'll definitely consider buying one !

As to Bromyard never wanting a real ale + cider fest,it already has had one,or at least it did do up to two years ago..... :)

Ah, the stereotypes are still there. Even the MD of Marstons thinks so.

Has this story hit any of you yet?

It has and he,s even had to partially retract his statement due to adverse publicity from branch members, talk about biting the hand that feeds.
Significant cash may have been spent on improving the JENNINGS plant but as beers BANKS bitter and MARSTONS PEDIGREE are mere shadows of their former selves. Can only imagine how many local camra branches may choose to axe MARSTONS " brands" next time they compile a list of beers for a festival,i dont think we,ve heard the last of this one.

In all fairness, he did say "recently".

And FWIW, I'm not going to be on his side. I am a massive fan of Pedigree when it's served well, and also of Jennings beers (same) but I'm not a massive fan of Marstons. I know of too many land"people" locally who have been stuffed by them and their restrictive policies.

DISCLAIMER: I make these remarks as an individual and not someone who wants Marstons pubs to have a "proper" guest beer.

Ah balls. I'll go pick up my sandles and fake beard tomorrow shall I?

Not very good the latest one. Think it implies we're not very good with  gurlz.

The [Fern] Britton's GOT [Chris] Tarrant cartoon is far better.

:P :D the central character looks remarkably like a former CAMRA chairman;one Dave Goodwin.Discuss.
viz-a-viz (no pun intended) Marstons and "no guest beer" - before they `got bigger`,and beacame part of the W&D empire, they used to flog a monthly ? special, with names like Dereham Bitter,Nut Brown Ale,Christmas Ale, and the late, lamented Merrie Monk.Still, that`s progress I suppose...... :?

The North & South Wales Bank had Merrie Monk on last week. I doubt whether it's the original though. I suspect a blend of their staple beers.

This one's a gem! Watch out for the "Pedo's Old Insistent 5%" on the blackboard and the traction engine enthusiast!

I must start buying Viz again. In the meantime, can anyone tell the address for Pump Clip Enthusiast? I wish to subscribe.
