Flintshire Real Ale Trail

Post by IanP » Tue Apr 16, 2013 1:16 pm

Did anyone else go on the Flintshire Real Ale Trail last weekend?

First time for me, and really enjoyed it.
The buses were every half hour which was good, but at times were quite crowded.
Missed The Oak in Hendre as it was heaving when we arrived, so jumped back on the bus and went to the Pwll Gwyn in Afonwen to beat the rush.

There was a good range of ales at the pubs we stopped at, more than I can remember, but I will name the ones I do - please feel free to add any I've missed!

Gold Cape, Mold
Conwy Welsh Pride
Leeds Vienna - never had this before, but it was really nice! http://www.leedsbrewery.co.uk/beers/

Pwll Gwyn, Afonwen
Lancaster Bomber
Coach House Dick Turpin
Thwaites Wainwright

Piccadilly, Caerwys
Conwy Infusion - another new one for me, worth a try if you like lighter ales, but aren't too hoppy.

Black Lion, Babell
Facer's Black Lion Bitter

Crooked Horn, Brynford
Facer's RAT (Real Ale Trail) - was brewed for the event itself, and was well worth a pint (or two :drink: )
