Decided I need to improve my cycle "fitness" so after cycling to Chester took the decision to make a couple of pit stops on way back so after an excellent Jarrow gibbet at Telfords took the cycle route through Blacon and called in at The Greyhound, Saughall, today only two cask ales on Deuchars and Tiger, tried the former which was in good nick, previously there have been up to four beers on mainly from regional brewerys and this pub still retains a local type image. Then through the country lanes to call in at The Yacht,Woodbank, now all change here as advertised in the local press with this pub now a GK Hungry Horse establishment similiar to down the road at The Rake, very busy and full of kids, tried the Abbot and surprisingly was quite good. Continued on and called in at The Cheshire Yeoman,Ledsham, the "in" place to drink 30 years ago and last time I was here they were selling Doombar but GK dominate here now with Abbot on and OSH with the badge turned around, tried the Abbot and was just about ok but don't think I'll return in a hurry. Finished off at The White Swan, Gt. Sutton with a couple of decent pints of one of Robbo's seasonals. cheers and happy drinking/cycling rimmer
