Just been checking on maps and buses today. Last bus back to Chester is the 21B which departs Tesco Helsby at 22.27, arr Chester 22.53. Not sure where Tesco is in relation to venue but can't be far - Helsby isn't that big!
I intend going on the Saturday and buses dep, Chester at 05 and 35 mins past the hour(Arriva X30). 25 min journey.

Dale from the Mill has been arranging the beers so bound to be a good choice. Is the list up somewhere online? Haven't been able to find it.
Might cycle there for an afternoon sess.

Let the train take the strain! 51mins past each hour only a 9 min journey and then either 21.42/22.39 or 23.14 back. group save tickets for three or more people unless of course you know the guard :bg:

I assume you would have to know the guard on both legs of the journey and also know the barrier staff as well to get on the platform in the first place - not too bad returning as it is unmanned after a certain time.

Good to see the railway being promoted - as you say 9 mins, you can't beat it. Not so sure Arriva Trains Wales would approve of your sentiments re. their staff though.

Ah, but what if you were in the company of an off-duty guard who has a word with his mates?!

Good little fezza this. Got the bus up on Saturday afternoon (nice to bump into you BBCJohn!).
Despite a stinking hangover I managed to sample a few, I was only able to drink the light ones though and Trashy Blonde was my fave.
Nice atmoshpere in there, hope the beer lasted for the evening as they were selling out of some in the afternoon!

I let the train take the strain and although only 9 mins from Chester station it was a good 15min walk at the other end - but helps develop a thirst for 1st beer. They only sold halves at £6 for 5. Nice to bump into Mr W and Susan and have brief chat about brewing. Some beers had run out by mid-afternoon on the Saturday so better go on Friday next time! I think Peerless Hillsbury Gold was my fav. but did try a few darks ones as well!
