Scam begging email??

Post by Old Yard Dog » Fri Jul 18, 2014 4:04 pm

Has anybody else received an email purporting to be from one of our senior CAMRA members saying he is stranded in an improbable location and has been robbed and so is asking for a big loan?

It seems to come from his email address but the language doesn't sound quite right.

I suspect a scam.

Don't say that - I've just sent a million pounds to a PO Box in Donetsk.

I think he needs to run some anti-virus software as they've got his contact list.
The emails seem to be from him but you can see the real email address isn't correct.

CAMRA HQ branch mailout from Colin Valentine stated their server had been hacked. Assured members that our personal details not affected by the hack.
