Wynnstay, Llangollen

Expected to re-open today after a bit of a re-furb.

Always enjoy a visit there - usually some lively characters.

I've usually been disappointed with the beer range here but I notice on social media they've got some new ones on (Salopian, Axiom). New owners or a change of ethos?

Sorry Guv, I haven't delivered any beer there.

My mistake. You delivered to Ponsonby. Purple Moose and Salopian still an improvement on Greene King.

It is back in the hands of Tom King who had it in 2010 for 3 and a half years -

Recently had a lick of paint, new flooring, general clean up etc etc

getting the focus back onto real ales, as we have done before.

Have 1 regular on the bar, Sharps Doom bar, and then plan is to rotate the other 2 always looking to having one local ale on the bar.

We are now open from 12pm everyday Mon - Sun, until 11pm Sun - Thurs and have a late license friday and sat until 2am

Wynnstay Arms, Llangollen

Post by alanH » Thu Jan 14, 2016 12:18 pm

"Unfortunately we have some bad news..........

Due to circumstances outside of our control from the brewery we are having to close the doors of Wynnstay Arms this coming Sunday." (Was 9 Jan)

"Sunday will be our last trading day.

The brewery have very 'kindly' decided that we are due a rent increase

We would like to thank everyone who has popped in a drink over the past few months, it truly was great to see so many locals back here and to see the pub thriving again, and we are very saddened that we have to leave."

Reported on facebook as a "5 times" increase due to improved sales!
