Erm, don't think I'll bother delivering the OIC mags there. :hmm:
I'll give extras to Telford's Warehouse - a far more deserving establishment!

Mockingbird Taproom

Post by mmatthej1 » Mon Sep 29, 2014 11:17 am

Noticed a twitter from the new owners of the erstwhile Fat Cat, in lower Watergate Street - coming soon & promising "Deep south, gumbos, shellfish, ribs, wine, cocktails, beer, key lime, spice, fajitasaurus, steak, fries, service, music, burger, bourbon" and maybe beer, for all I know!

Sounds promising!

Merged this in with the original thread. Craft beer gets a mention but not cask. Sounds awful to me, the whole marketing twat BS puts me off to be be honest. Will give it a go though and see as might not be as bad as all that.

Sounds dreadful. I'm done with pub reviews anyhow.

Include me out.

I've still got OIC mags to deliver to notionally, The Linenhall, so I'll poke my head in, briefly, and probably donate the mags to the Olde Cottage. Unless of course I find a plethora of handpumps! :nono:

What's the difference between craft beer and cask then?

Anyway, after you lot have jumped to conclusions, I've been assured there will be three cask lines on.

In short, when I see a pub advertising craft beer they pretty much mean keg beers. Some do include cask but usually cask ales are mentioned separately, such is the confusing and pretty meaningless use of the word craft these days.

As for the MT I've at least said I'll give it a go and see but to me so far they come across as all image and that is often at the expense of substance. Happy to be proved wrong as ever.

Two pumpclips turned round last night with just Woodlands Best on. I didn't try it as there was a bloke strumming his guitar as I walked in which has the effect of magnetic repulsion forcing me back out of the door.
