Hooton Hotel, Hooton

Post by Old Yard Dog » Thu Aug 07, 2014 8:51 pm

Was closed tonight, not sure why but there appeared to be some building work going on. The car park has been quiet when I have passed in recent weeks.

The Hooton is open and looks like its had a bit of a refurb-popped my head through the door where Doombar was the only real ale on,one handpull out of use, the other with the badge turned round, don't know if this is because of the refurb. Needs to be checked later on.
cheers

Visited today and two of the 3 pumpclips were turned around. The only beer apparently on, Doom Bar, was cloudy when pulled and so was taken off.

They seemed to be promoting cask with blackboard signs and samples on the bar, so I may have been unlucky.

But the pub was worryingly quiet for a food oriented venue on a Friday lunchtime in summer.

The pub was closed again when I called at lunchtime today with "Business opportunity" signs outside and furniture thrown out the back. Doesn't look good.

According to staff at Hooton station the site has been bought by Tesco. Pub in a sorry state of decay.
