Just tried three samples of the Cheshire Brew Brothers beers, cant say I'm very impressed, I think they got to up their game, lots of better local brewers out there.

Heavy Industry makes a welcome return to the bar - Nelson's Eye going down very nicely at present. 77 to follow. Still only one cask beer on most of time, due to lack of uptake. Would help if one or two Shottonites occasionally made the 15 minute walk up the road, rather than sitting in Spoons moaning about beer range/quality.

On two recent Monday night visits, just one real ale was on sale - on both occasions from Facers.

Yes - Facer's has been the mainstay for some time now. Cheshire Brew Brothers was on a week or so back, and I've been asking Brummie for some variety in the ale on offer, so hopefully this trend of swapping them around a bit will continue.

Shame about the spoons, how's the Castle doing lately by the way? Never seems to get a mention

Not much to report from The Castle (Hendies). Average pint of EPA is the only cask they've had on the last couple of times I've been there.
Heavy Industry Electric Mountain going down nicely at the Ship.

Sad to hear Emily has left. Let's hope the new licensee keeps up the splendid quality of the beers.
