Stanley's Brook Street

Post by Fred Gumby » Fri Feb 22, 2013 4:58 pm

Anyone who would like to give Trevor at the Cottage a bit of competition and has a spare £18,800 to spare might be interested in taking over Stanleys on a tenancy from those nice people at Punch Taverns.

I'd rather s**t in my hands and clap.

There have been some rumours about the the Stanley and now it has closed officially.
Has Trevor got any info?

FrackFree Upton had some stuff locked in there for their fund-raising day today, hope they got it back.

The last I heard was that somebody had taken over and some of the customers have put money in. I went to meeting at catholic club a week last Monday and has been shut since then nobody has any idea why and there's not even any rumours flying about.

Open again and is going to be food lead, the people who have the Oddfellows in frodsham Street have taken the lease. This may turn out to be the best for a while.

Good that it's staying a pub, tho' I've never done more than look in once, as it appeared to be a bit basic.

(Defo better than becoming a funeral parlour, tho' a maternity unit would have made a nice bookend set for Brook St!)

Hear it is now open with Doom Bar on one of the handpumps. More to follow if real ale sells. Good news, hope it works out.

Nice young couple, I hope they don’t get stitched by punch, at the moment cheap booze and sky sports, they are rent-free at the moment so that’s just see what Punch has in store for them for the future, if these two don’t make a go of it I think that will be the end.
