This is common knowledge and part of the reason we hate the Pub Cos.

Have Hydes reneged on a deal? I'm assuming you signed up to some agreement .

Luckily we have walked away. We will just concentrate on our free of tie sites, the way the trade should be!! :drinking:

Seems the new managers had some major problems and only lasted 24 hours!
What a shambles things have become down there.

Such a shame, when Chris ran the Carlton it was one of the best boozers for miles, what a difference a year makes

Good news. The new landlady has experience at the Rigger in Elton so won't be phased by the Carlton I'll wager. Good luck to them!

Popped in the Carlton for a chat with Debbie last night as well as leave some new OutInn Cheshire mags.

No obvious changes inside and very encouraging to see a healthy turn out of respectable folk many I know and recognise from Chris's era in charge.

Just Hydes Original on but Banks Sunbeam and Hydes world cup guest ale are join it once setled. The area manager ordered the three casks which we both agreed was too many while they're still settling in and trying to regain lost customers. Early days but was encouraged.

Other local news. Andy Smythe's has left the Red Lion and been replaced by young Andy (no relation). The Handbridge was selling Cheshire Brewhouse Cheshire Vein the other day. It was closed at 10pm last night though.

The beer list for this weekends Halloween festival has some interesting guests led by golden beers Crystal Brew Indian Summer IPA Elland Brewery Sanctuary and Tiny Rebel Fubar a floral hoppy number at 4.4 ABV. For the enthusiasts of darker beers there is Backyard Hellbound ,a strong brown ale and VIP Village Ghost , a stout. Jennings Bulls Eye is a chestnut ale at 3.8ABV. There are some of Hydes own beers with Autumn Sunshine and Celcius on their seasonal list and Beer Studio offerings are the 4.2 Golden Ochre and the new Alsace. A strong blonde completes the list in Provenance Munchen.
For cider lovers there are three on Somerset Scorpion Dee Cider Richards Sweet and Farmyard Old Scrumpy.
The festival starts on Friday and runs through Saturday and Sunday with lots of special events to accompany the ale tasting!
