Now Sunday's hangover's finally cleared away I'm starting to look forward to this. Who's making the effort to 'cross the water'?

Chris, any chance you can post a list of beers and any other relevant details on here rather than folk having to trawl through Farcebook?

Secret Night.
Tonight (Thursday 31st of January), CAMRA members can sample the beers and ciders before anyone else. What's that I hear you cry? Your gonna have to do better than that Chris! OK. How about we knock 10p off the price of a pint when you produce your CAMRA card?
THAT'S RIGHT!

Also heres a list of beers as requested.

Hydes Original (Obviously)
Hydes Last Drop (The last beer brewed in the now empty Queens Brewery)
Kelham Island - Goody Two Shoes
Nutbrook - Mongrel
Elland - Enigma
Welbeck Abbey - Aphrodite
Pot Belly - Old Bar Steward
Stroud - Resolution
Green Duck - Ducks Arse
Rooster - Humble Pie
Black Hole - Milky way
Marble - Manchester Bitter (Voted 3rd best pint in the city by CBP)
Marble - Chocolate Marble
Marble - Lagonda IPA
Pied Bull - Matador (You voted this the best pint produced in Cheshire. I agree)
Facers - Carlton 10 (Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Carlton Beer Festivals)
Tollgate - Abbey Pale

Then there are ciders
Thatchers - Chedder Valley
Moles - Black Rat
Sheppys Dry
Black Dragon

ALL HANDS TO THE PUMPS!

I managed to call in relatively briefly Fri, Sat and Sun.

My favourites were Welbeck Aphrodite, Kelham Island Goody Two Shoes, Nutbrook Mongrel and Stroud Resolution.

Not only good ale but the food was superb especially the roast spuds (cue plug for Eileen's Sandwiches in Saltney)! The non-stop singer on Friday annoyed me especially doing that "Are We Human..." song. I felt like making him an ex-human at that point.

Sad to hear about the pub's almost certain enforced and lengthy closure due to urgent treatment for wet rot and other structural problems. Hope all goes well Chris.

Word on the street is that Carlton Chris has resigned (had enough) and is currently working notice?

Such a speedy descent. From the best pub in Handbridge to the worst in under a year. Been shut since Monday but re-opening this weekend according to Chester@Large. Another new manager is coming in to see if they can handle the unruly natives any better. Is that the third since Chris left?

Bet Hydes wish they'd kept Chris sweet now. Their loss. Chester Rugby Club's gain.

Hydes are a big problem as there is no discount on beers, site is unviable because of this.

I'm constantly amazed at how the pub/brewery trade operates :wha:
It's their beers and their pub, surely they can work it so that it makes a profit?

Put it this way, you can purchase the same beers from a wholesaler in free trade at half of the price.
