Chester and South Clwyd CAMRA

As I drove past the Ellesmere Arms in Little Sutton this evening, workmen were boarding it up. It was open just a couple of days ago. Despite living in the area for 20 years, I have never set foot in the place as it has always looked uninviting and served nothing but keg beer. Only two pubs now survive in Little Sutton, both packed out with youngsters, and neither serve real ale.

By way of dubious consolation I did hear that the Bull in Great Sutton was now serving Sharps Doombar. Has the landlord from the Straw Hat taken over here?

Just stopped outside The Bull this morning and Sharps Doombar is advertised by the front door at £1.50/pint! while stocks last,looked through the window and one wicket on bar but no badge. First time in 36 years I've known this pub to serve cask ale but stand to be corrected on this.
