This might be finally reopening. Passed it last week and noted scaffolding, builders' vans, all lights blazing...

Blimey that was quick, looked as derelict as ever when I last went past.
Am amazed that anyone is taking that pub on to be honest but good luck to them!

The Dunham Arms is advertising for staff in this week's Chronicle. The ad states that the re-opening date is 22nd March.

Still a Marstons pub, three beers on today were Pedigree, Burton Bitter and Jennings Bitter. Beers were very cold but decent enough. Good to see a poster up of the seasonal beers coming soon (from the Marstons family of course). Layout seemed as I remember it, tiled floor and lots of wood but the carpet design is a bit iffy! Nice little garden out back which shares the excellent view with the downstairs dining area. Differnet themes to each evening (Fish Friday, Pudding Tuesday, Sunday Roast etc) which is good. I don't like the fact that the food is advertised in huge posters attached to the outside walls though - cheapens the look after the nice renovation it's had. Overall they look to have done a great job, must try the food there sometime. It's nice to have another real ale pub open again, never thought I'd see the day this reopened! :thumb:

It had Marston's Pedigree, Burton Bitter (in poor nick) and Dragons Tale (OK) on late last night. The pub was trying hard with various food promotions but was disappointingly quiet for a Friday.

The Dunham used to be my regular Friday lunchtime haunt in the early 1980's before health & safety stopped us going out. Then it was a much smaller two roomed local selling Whitbread Special Cask from Trueman Street in Liverpool.
