I have recently taken over responsibility for the guest ales in the Central Hotel and thought I would make a quick post to introduce myself. I will be using this thread to promote our guest ale selection and would welcome any feedback on the selection and quality of the beer available.

Also we will be hosting a meet the brewer evening with Cheshire Brew Brothers on Wednesday August 27th from 7pm. This will be the first event the brewery have held and we are hoping for a great turnout. CAMRA members can also enjoy a 20% discount on any meal from our Chicken Club menu on the evening by showing a valid membership card. Don't forget we are situated right next to the railway station so nice and easy to get to and from.

Today we have the following beers available:

Jurassic - Dorset Knob
Kite Brewery - Wheat Wave
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire
Everard's - Tiger
Dunscar Bridge - Cask 40 Pils.

If there are any beers you would like to see available please feel free to speak to me in the pub or via this thread and I will do my best to get them in.

Kind regards,

Hi Dan

Welcome to the forum. I'll move this to the 'Beers Available now" forum as that is the area for current beers. I'll keep the meet the brewer night info on the pub and brewery news as a separate thread and put out a tweet about it too.

Hi Dan,

I would like to see some weetwoods Beers on a regular Basis , and have mentioned it several times to several of your predecessors without any real positive outcome.
Weetwoods always sell's well in Shotton, unlike many of the other beers , which turn to vinegar before they are sold..owing to lack of interest ...
Eastgate and Cheshire Cat are very popular..and I would suggest ...ask...that we get those in.

I would suggest that spoilage would be reduced if these were a regular feature...Along with peerless Ales which are also a mover....The consensus of opinion on the real ale on offer during the past few months or so amongst the regular CAMRA lads ...err well ..unprintable.....

Its a win win...Wetherspoons sell more Beer , and the punters are happy. The old saying ..THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT ...never made more sense...
