Lovely pint of Paxton's Peculiar in here on my way into town last night. Good range of local ales.

I popped in last night for a couple of halves and ended up leaving well after midnight (hence today's headache). Not many in there alas but the beers were ALL excellent especially the Peerless Knee Buckler and Off Beat Off the Rails. Only £2.50 - fully a quid cheaper than down the road at the Ship. Good to speak to forumists Blueboy, Hop Rossi and Dexter !

I thought Hydes had fixed the pub's dry rot problem but the water dripping from the ceiling didn't look encouraging.

That wouldn't be dry rot then would it?
