Always pretty mediocre as I recall, the Greenalls was always much better at Mercer's place, Barlows, and the Kings Arms Kitchen

A few of us used to pile in here after 5-a-side at the Arena. Always remember a refreshing pint of Original served via that funny electric slide dispense method.

Albion? cant say I have, Mercer is ancient now, 35+ years there, anything could happen.
Hope it doesnt change when he goes, but it probably will.
On Hophead's theme of Greenalls Original, the Little Oak (before they ruined it) served a cracking pint of it in the early eighties

Sorry to come on this late but had trouble logging in. Yes remember Northgate arms as it was one of those pubs outside the "walls" ,see drinking within the walls under this section, which we used to rush to before 10-30,this pub and Bull&Stirrup used to be my last port of call before last "crossie" home in late 70s/early 80s.
cheers

Rimmer in the early days before the George Street bus terminal buses used to go from the Town Hall Square, I would use the Coach and Horses for a final pint, lot nearer, and the Greenalls was OK
kind regards, Mike.
