Re: New Chester Pub - Race Horse

Now closed and opening on October 4 as a bar and kitchen.
No real ale, who'd have thought it could become less appealing than as a Hungry Horse!

Hydes did reply and say they were hoping to get another tenant in soon. If it stays open as a pub there is always hope!! :thumb:

Re: Flintshire Real Ale Trail

The company that organised this have done many others before in different areas (NW Wales, Wrexham, Wirral etc) and are planning more. There is one for the Chester area in the pipeline for example. Always seems to be mixed feedback but I imagine these things are very hard to organise. Of the stops m...

Jen Pugh

Some of you may be aware that Jen Pugh, a very active member in the Wrexham area of our branch and a stalwart of the North Wales Beer & Cider festival, sadly passed away last Sunday. Her husband Tony has asked that we raise a glass to her memory on Wednesday 23rd August in The Bridge End Inn, Ruabon...

Same with Private Eye, Woodland Trust and others. Dont think Ive ever looked at the crap that comes with them. Straight in the recycle bin but they must help with the ad revenue

Kings Head, Bwlchgwyn

Paid a visit yesterday and was very impressed with the new look. Neat and tidy inside, locals seem very happy with the reopening. Two beers on from Big Hand and they were in superb nick. It's too hard a :cycle: climb for me to visit often but well worth checking out. Food available too. Fingers cros...

Re: Frog,upton

Tricky now that the Race Horse has opened further up and the refurbed Mill@Upton seems to be doing well. Not sure the Frog has found its niche in the new local market yet. Losing the dreaded pubco is a must for its long term viability too surely?
