Re: Rosie's

Only time I've ever remotely liked that place was when the Ship & Turtle was open next door. Christ. That's going back a bit.

Popped in after midweek cricket a few weeks back. Trappers Hat was pretty good to be fair but service was appalling. Could tell something wasn't right about the place. Just heard negative stuff on the Bridge ever since.

Re: White Swan, Great Sutton

Re-opened yesterday and certainly not bland or monotonously open plan. Quite impressed actually with the job done. Bar is now on left as you walk in but retains raised area to rear. Former servery space and public bar now smartened up and, all in all, looks quite cosy. Outside decking at the back. F...

Hafod Meet the Brewer Night

A diary date for you. Thursday 19th May. Meet the Brewer - Hafod (Phil) at the Central Hotel, Shotton. From 6pm. At least four beers on cask plus some bottles and "canned" versions to sample. This clashes with the monthly branch meeting at the Glynne Arms at Hawarden, but if anyone wants to get out ...

Re: Vaults Hotel, Malpas

Looking tidier than my last visit. Floor space was cluttered with loads of framed pics reflecting owners former job as RAF photographer. Didn't reckon cask would last but glad I've been proved wrong.

Nice Chester FC scarf in the Whatpub pics. Well done.
