Re: glassware

good well informed views from mike as ever. conical is just a little gastropub for my liking. i don't dislike and we use them at artichoke land. we also use dimples. of late i've had a nostalgic love affair with the Nonic. how would we kiss if we banned two lips?

can't agree more Mike with the quality of the beer in the Cottage. it has become a must visit for me on my rare outings from the canal quarter.

i love this pub. haven't had a chance this (summer?) to bob down but will be making a real effort. earlier comment about the food is spot on, i have eaten there on numerous occasions over the last few years and cannot fault it. keep it up!

Re: Chester Canal Crawl

sounds like a good little session. the canal quarter does seem to be getting busier and without attracting any loutish behaviour. should be even better come the summer.

Re: Budvar Yeast Beer at Artichoke

on to barrel four of the budvar yeast beer. maybe only one week of stock left. this is not a traditional camra product, however, this unpasturised beer is truly wonderful and a must for any beer lover.

Re: Artichoke, Canalside

a great beer has arrived at artichoke. it is from the northern brewery in blakemere and it goes by the name of Stax. a reference to the heady days of northern soul no doubt. they are obviously as useless at new names as we are! the beer, however, is lightish gold, hoppy, smooth and citrusy. 4.8% and...

Re: Artichoke, Canalside

cheers bbc john. looking forward to the real ale festival, i've even got round to putting the poster up! as for the bolts for the mecanno stools, sadly, we are not using originals as they are not trust worthy enough. modern bolts measured in euros or some such. three stools now made by our "yoof" in...
