Re: Tim Martin

Don't forget that this is the chap that was complaining about the £7.20 living
wage. Such a disaster as it meant that he may have to put his prices up (to
maintain the profit margin) most of his staff are on zero hours contracts. Could his
out agenda be so that workers lose even more protection?

Re: Birkenhead Beer Festival

Good Thursday night at Prenton park. Great venue and all the beer we tried was
on good form. Also good value food. It`s about a 15-20 minute walk from Rock Ferry
Railway Station.

Re: Beer of the Weekend

Tzatziki Sour at the Cellar Chester was very good. The bar is near to the railway station. It is worth seeking out if you are in the area.

Re: The Forest House

Called at Forest House this eve, not open but looked as if it will be soon as all lights on
and bar staff evident. lots of evidence of trying to make a quick buck as prices seem to
be cheaper than Spoons but much less choice!. Very poor bottled beer choice and only ale was whitstable bay?

Great bottled and canned beer choice at M & S now, over 100 they claim and at reasonable price.

Re: Peal o' Bells, HOLT

Peal is open again today, electric is back on! on the pumps are Wainwrights and Doom bar (from pub co list) on trial basis so don't hold your breath! Seems to be a losing battle against evil pub barons.

Re: The Ponsonby Arms

Called at the Ponsonby yesterday and was amazed to see all signage removed and place closed down
It is very sad to see after all of the efforts and money spent on this wonderful pub. I called at the sun
which was also closed but this maybe because it was 14-30 on Sunday. anyone have any info?

Re: Greyhound Saughall

I Visited this pub today and was pleasantly surprised to see 8 hand pumps on the bar with a good selection of local ales but beware as a pint costs £3-30 but a half will set you back £2-00. I don't understand this as they seem to be campaigning real ale and then penalising anyone who likes to try sm...
