Re: Chester Beer Awards - Hoole / City Road Echo Chamber?

Re-cycling HH? Yeah, I suppose same old same. In my opinion, (and not being outspoken, for fear of the puritanical Mr W taking me to task) the three best areas in town for good beer are 1 the Canal quarter, 2 Lower Bridge Street, but not over the water, 3 Garden quarter, ie Goat and Munch, centre of...

Bridge Inn Tarvin Road

Shut the whole of this weekend! Looks like time and lack of customers has caught up with this former GBG entry, Great shame for Boughton as the current watering holes are not brilliant.

What a cracking pint of Woodfordes Wherry Bitter in here last night! Other beers available were Otter Bitter, Stockport Brewery Ginger Tinge, and a house badged Brexit Bitter from Marstons.

Re: Egerton Arms, Bache, now Mill @ Upton

Good point, and I accept that, negativity achieves nothing! Yes, I will continue to post findings on mini tours of the city, but you guys have a responsibility too, you post nothing on visits, tours etc, why is that? Why can't we work together on this and give Chester beer drinkers up to date info? ...

Storyhouse

Interesting to note your twitter feed asks if there is cask beer available. Why don't you go and look and ask? A brand new venture in town and none of you lot can bother to turn up, shame on you, you are so narrow minded! I'll fill you in, Emily the bar manager is keen on real ale and is hoping via ...

Re: Telfords 'Pub of the Year'

I think I give up, local branch, you wear me down! not even a mention of Make May a Mild Month, nothing organised, nothing about beer, not a drop, just pictures of closed pubs turned into co-ops or ACVs informing us to contact our local planning department to object. Nothing about Blueball or Robins...

Re: Telfords 'Pub of the Year'

Attend one of your meetings? Don't be silly, life is too short, you'd probably bore the arse off me!
Hoptowits idea of a ballot of all members in the local branch is a bloody good idea. Just do it, and not rely on the 'secret six'

Re: Telfords 'Pub of the Year'

Good point about Blueball and Robinsons advertising, overlooked by our local branch of Camra
The House of Commons banned Top Totty advertising from Slaters a few years ago
Ok spokesman Mr W you got an explanation on this one?
Im waiting with bated breath xxxx

Re: Telfords 'Pub of the Year'

I totally agree with Chunka It is a secret society, where secrecy rules ok! fine for Mr W to say voting was done within the rules of Camra, ok, publish the results. I ask the question again, what do you lot actually do? You have socials visiting various pubs but report on non of your findings, very ...

Telfords 'Pub of the Year'

Was this announced on April 1st? Its got to be an April Fool! Who in their right mind ( Chester Camra committee excluded! ) would nominate this music venue, eatery, and place that sells Thwaites, Cheshire Cat and other exciting beers as the best pub in our region? Come on, it has got to be a joke. I...
