Re: Teds bar Wrexham

It's meant to be a wine bar I think.

Re: Goat and Munch, Chester

Hours are now 2-10 Tue-Thu, 2-10.30 Fri & Sat, 2-7.30 Sun (closed Mon). In addition to three excellent real ales, last night I enjoyed a superb bottle of Frank Boon's Marriage Parfait Gueuze. At £5.50 for a 37.5 ml bottle, it was actually far cheaper than most bars in Belgium where you can pay up t...

Re: Ffrwd Cefn-y-Bedd

Popped in yesterday after the refurb. Only one handpull on the bar now and there was nothing on it.

On the plus side, the food was still excellent.

Re: The Horse and Jockey, Wrexham.

It is open, Punch just CBA taking the board down. Probably because the set of revolving tenants don't warrant it. Same staff working.

That's odd. New tenants were meant to be going in on the Monday just gone.

OUTRAGEOUS!

Can't stand drinking beer out of plastic. Couldn't they get glass buckets?

Blimey, I never thought I'd see that open again. I thought fire regulations meant it had to close.

Excellent place in it's time, as you say.

Re: The Welch Fuisilier Wrexham

Quite a nice refurbishnent. Very light and airy now. Cheap prices. Looks like a McSpoons. Two ales on; Doom Bar and Magic Dragon.

I can see the prices going up to market rate at some point but it's an improvement on the old place. Would go again.

It's open now. I'll pop in later. Now owned by Craft Union on a retail agreement.

Re: The Welch Fuisilier Wrexham

I've been told that the landlord is now a manager and not a tenant.

I believe it's going to be sports bar focused.

Re: Old Swan Wrexham

Meant to be reopening after a refurb as "Abbot's Bar". Which is a bit confusing as that was the name of the (now) Cross Foxes about 15 years ago.

I don't recognise the new tenant's name so I'll keep it to myself for a bit.
